  • BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering.

Job Title:

Software Lab Engineer

Key Job Elements:

• Ensure that the software lab supports the software testing required to provide a quality product to our customers;

• Identify and execute any and all planned maintenance on all equipment;

• Support engineers in setting up the stand for more advanced configurations beyond the knowledge of the test engineers;

• Troubleshoot issues that arise in a timely manner using Change Requests to manage workload;

• Ensure the hardware remains current and adequate for the job;

• Support and sometimes drive the development of new hardware or entire test stands based on department needs;

• Continuous improvement including constantly addressing any possible safety concerns;

• Travel less than 10%.

Qualifications and Experience:

• At least 1 year of technical experience in a software or hardware lab environment or other comparable job experience;

• Excellent organizational, technical leadership and interpersonal skills;

• Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate technical concepts and support assertions with data; ability to make decisions based on facts;

• Self-motivated with a strong sense of team environment;

• Strong customer interaction skills;

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel).

Preferred:

• 3 to 5 years of technical experience relevant to the lab management key job elements;

• Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt.

Essential and Physical Activities Functions

• Strength – Position typically involves work in a standard office environment. Rare standing and walking;

• Motion – Position regularly requires standard repetitive motions and hand/eye coordination associated with office communications. Constant sitting, rare walking and standing;

• Vision/Hearing Requirements – Occasional verbal communications, including both talking and hearing;

• Work Environment – Position is consistent with standard office environment;

• Emotional Demands – High level of responsibility; high sense of urgency. Ability to multitask and coordinate multiple issues simultaneously. Requires ability to coordinate work of a team to accomplish mission success;

• Safety – Position includes safety requirements consistent primarily with a standard office environment.
